With European travel looking like it could start again this year, it is time to start researching the best places to go for your vacation.

European travel for Americans has increased in popularity over the years. With an approximate flight time of 10 hours (depending on departure and arrival airports), Americans want to make the most of their time in Europe and see as much as possible without spending all their time in a plane or a car. A great option for connecting all the stunning cities of Europe is by train. There are convenient connections from all capital cities, allowing your Europe Travel to be stress-free while getting from A to B.

To get the most out of your Europe trip, here are some of the best locations to soak up the culture, food, and history.

London

Filled with iconic landmarks and rich in history, London is the perfect location for Americans to start their European travels. Embed yourself into the London lifestyle by heading to the local pub to enjoy a traditional meal of roast meat and vegetables before seeing a best-selling show on the West End. If you are short on time, there are many ways to see all the London sites. Consider a sightseeing trip on a red double-decker bus or take a boat trip along the Thames.

Paris

Paris is a city like no other. It is not hard for American travelers to be able to throw themselves into the Parisian culture on every corner. Stroll down De Champs-Élysées for some luxury shopping or watch artists paint and purchase their masterpieces. Art lovers can spend a day visiting The Louvre or if you just want to relax, why not have a picnic on the lawns near the Eiffel Tower.

Rome

You cannot visit Europe without heading to Italy and there is no better stop than Rome. You cannot visit the Italian capital without seeing the historic Colosseum or throwing coins in the famous Trevi Fountain. If you only have a short time in Rome, spend the day in St Peters Square for some fresh pasta and gelato after checking out St Peter’s Basilica and the Vatican, including Michelangelo’s Sistine Chapel.

Amsterdam

Amsterdam is known for its gorgeous canals and unique Red Light District. But this city is full of hidden treasures, with some of the most stunning art galleries and museums. Some of the best are located in Museumplein. Head there for a day of admiring some of the world’s most famous works, including The Netherlands own Rembrandt and van Gogh. From there you can head to Vondelpark for a dose of the evergreen nature that The Netherlands has to offer.

Things to consider

When planning a trip to Europe, it is always best to not only pack for the season you’re going to be traveling in but the possibility of an unseasonal weather change. Layers and comfortable clothing in neutral colors will always be the safest choice as it can be dressed up or down, depending on the occasion and location – just steer clear from looking like a tourist no matter where you visit.

If you only have a few weeks to visit Europe, consider the option of train travel. The train connects these favourites to other major cities to make seeing Europe easy. For example, you can get to Paris from London in less than three hours.

You can choose to experience Europe on a tight budget or in pure luxury. One thing is guaranteed though. Europe travel for Americans is easy and safe and a vacation experience like nothing else.
